My Vista PC has stopped burning any DVD/CDs suddenly. No problem with reading from the disc though. I tried different burning softwares with no luck. While writing it shows buffer progressbars correctly (I think so) but at the end of the day nothing will be written to the disc and it turned out to be still blank.

Did you recently play a faulty CD/DVD? You drive must have gone into PIO mode from DMA mode. You can fix easily if that is the real issue here http://www.rarst.net/software/fix-drive-slowdown/

Thats a cool find. Welcome to the forum Bliz.
Also, if this is not the issue, check your diskspace usage. If you do not have enough diskspace atleast as much as the files you wan't to write, there drive may refuse to burn the disc. You can check which drive your drive is currently using as the buffer disk by going to Right Click on the DVD Drive > Properties > Recording Choose a hard disk drive which has the masximum free space. |
